Cylinder handling
Keep cylinders upright, away from direct heat and sunlight. Close the valve fully when not in use, and never store a cylinder in an enclosed, unventilated space.
Hose & connection checks
Check the hose and connections regularly for cracks, brittleness or a loose fit. Replace approved hoses every few years, not just when damage is visible.
Ventilation
Any room with a gas appliance needs proper ventilation. Never block air vents, and have central gas systems inspected as part of routine building maintenance.
